Grow Character
Use Your Signature Strengths
here’s how:
1. Select one of your highest strengths, one that is at the core of who you are.
2. Consider a new way to use that strength. For example, if you're creative, try taking a new route home, or writing your name backwards.
3. Use the strength in a new way each day for a week and see what you notice.
here’s why:
Several studies have found that emphasizing your key character strengths - such as kindness, honesty, creativity, curiosity, humor and perseverance - and using them in a new way reduced stress, anxiety, and depression and improved happiness. One study for stress reduction in parents of children with intellectual and developmental differences at Vanderbilt Kennedy Center found this tool to be effective.
