Together We Can Rise Above the Statistics

Kids are Struggling

1 in 5 children in the U.S. has a diagnosable mental health condition, such as anxiety or depression.

1 in 5 children in the U.S. has learning and attention issues, such as ADHD or dyslexia.

Rates of anxiety, depression, and suicide are on the rise among teens of all demographics and household income levels. In 2022, 57% of girls in the United States reported feeling persistently sad or hopeless.

Three leading groups declared a national emergency for children and adolescent mental health in October 2021: The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, American Academy of Pediatrics, and Children’s Hospital Association.

So Are the Parents

As of 2022, 66% of parents have experienced some form of burnout - physical, mental, or emotional exhaustion.

Parents of kids with developmental, psychiatric or learning challenges experience more stress, illness, anxiety and depression than other parents.

Some of these parents have stress hormone patterns comparable to combat soldiers.

A March 2021 survey by the APA found 39% of mothers and 25% of fathers said their mental health had worsened compared with before the pandemic.
